Strategic Importance of this Role to the Company:
The Product Owner's role is extremely important and pivotal to the efficient running of the company and setting future goals and expectations for the company and its clients. The position needs to ensure consistent identification of new business opportunities and deliver on the company promises both internally and externally. The role is a leader of Product development and must inspire, lead and develop products/features that can deliver the highest levels of service in a scalable, predictable, sustainable, and profitable way. The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing value and return on investment for the company. The Product Manager answers the questions of what?, why? and for who?
Product Management revolves around the following categories.
1. Product Development
a. Creating the roadmap for each SME and the overall SME Product
b. Planning, prioritizing, and creating features for each release
c. Ensuring User Stories / Tasks are ready for sprint
d. Backlog grooming
e. Collaboration with development team to build features
f. Establishing clear Client needs and feature definitions
g. Creating target Client personas
2. Product Quality
a. Managing and minimizing defects
b. Advocating for the Client in internal meetings
c. Release tracking
3. Product Usage
a. Client communication
b. Managing Client transitions to SMEs
c. Managing end of life and Odoo major release changes
4. Business Performance
a. Establishing and executing product positioning and marketing plan
b. Conducting competitive analysis
c. Establishing pricing and promotions
d. Forecasting and delivery of sales
How: My duties and responsibilities in the position are to be performed:
1. Project Delivery
I. Organize Daily Stand-up with team and track the progress for release
II. Ensure unblocking the tasks for team
III. Plan your day and review daily tasks planned in advance
IV. Review all out of SLA help tickets and have a resolution plan for each
V. Ensure communication with client on helpdesk
VI. Check Project and Task deadlines, make necessary arrangements to ensure timely delivery
VII. Setup/ Update Project Gantt Chart
VIII. Review completed tasks/Tickets and ensure proper closure
IX. Review projects and have discovery calls/discussions with Project Manager/Lead consultant
i. Conduct a weekly review of all Projects, Deliverables, Status, Progress versus Plan
ii. Provide a written project update to the MC
iii. Review logged hours versus spent hours to increase efficiency and validate the timesheets Setup/ Update Project Gantt Chart
iv. Review Project status
i. A monthly report to be presented to the
ii. Ensure client updates on upcoming release
iii. Update release notes and share with clients
iv. Ensure planning of sprint
v. Set-up monthly review call with management
vi. Delivering client projects on time
